Who we are

Founded in 2021 in the sicilian countryside,

Rifugio Cornadure is an antispeciesist sanctuary:

a space of liberation, resistance and care

for non-human animals.

Our values

x Animals are not food, objects or property

x Every animal is a sentient individual

x Liberation for everybody: we condemn every form of oppression

Animals live freely, respected as individuals and never exploited.

We offer lifelong care, safety and dignity.

Cornadure is also a living, open space — a place for connection, learning and shared experiences.

Visitors and volunteers are welcome to take part in daily life at the sanctuary, help care for the animals, and support the work behind the scenes.

Throughout the year, we host events that reflect our values, including:

x yoga and movement practices
x music, talks and readings
x shared vegan food
x activities and experiences for children

All events are created with respect for the animals and the sanctuary space.
